Ravyn’s Family
Unlike many other girls her age, Ravyn did not want a trip to a tropical destination, a shopping spree for new clothes or even the chance to meet her favorite pop star. Instead, she wanted a family to love and take care of her.
Ravyn had been separated from her siblings at a young age and had spent years moving from one foster home to another. Finally, a loving family decided they wanted to adopt Ravyn and her sister. Unfortunately, the family had no space for Ravyn’s medical equipment. So, The Dream Factory of Northwest Missouri’s volunteers remodeled an old room at the family’s house into a Dora the Explorer-themed bedroom with space for all Ravyn’s medical equipment. Ravyn’s dream came true: she was reunited with her sister and placed in the care of a loving family.
Sadly, Ravyn passed away in November 2004. However, she was able to enjoy her final months surrounded by loved ones in a safe and welcoming environment.
